April 2016 – Travelling the Danube River through Hungary
Upon our arrival in Hungary, we took a trip to Kalocsa. There were endless beautiful fields of canola along the roads.
We stopped to see a traditional medieval Hungarian home.
Some ladies were outside demonstrating traditional crafts. This lady was using a manual pedal powered sewing machine to make traditional designs on lace products.
When we visited the Puszta Horse farm, we were greeted by a Hungarian horseman.
Suzanna with Hungarian mare and colt.
Traditional Hungarian wagon pulled by Hungarian oxen.
We were entertained by a horse show at the Puszta Horse farm.
The horses were trained to lie down as if they were dead.
The horses could also sit up like dogs.
One horseman held the reins for 10 horses and was able ride them around the horse grounds.
Our cruise ship approached Budapest in the evening. The city and all of the bridges were lighted up.
Here is the Parliament building at night.
